1.5V/30A DC/DC Converter Housed In Eighth-Brick Package

March 1, 2003
Announced as industry firsts, the Xena 50 dc/dc converters have a quarter-brick pinout in a true eighth-brick package - the converters measure exactly 50% smaller than industry-standard quarter-bricks, while delivering up to 30A with a 1.5V output.

Announced as industry firsts, the Xena 50 dc/dc converters have a quarter-brick pinout in a true eighth-brick package - the converters measure exactly 50% smaller than industry-standard quarter-bricks, while delivering up to 30A with a 1.5V output. Aimed at telecomm and industrial automation markets and suitable for use as drop-in replacements for quarter-brick units, the new open frame dc/dc converters provide input voltages from 36V to 75V and single outputs from 1V to 5V. Employing proprietary planar magnetics, efficiency at full load is typically better than 90%. Other features include remote on/off, current limiting, a trim function, over-voltage protection, and an operating temperature range of -40°C to 100°C. Through-hole and surface-mount models are available. ASCOM ROMPOWER INC., Tucson, AZ. (520) 326-8401.
