Measuring 1.75" in height, the Pulsar Evolution family of UPSs is touted as the market's smallest 800VA and 1.1 kVA uninterruptible power supplies (UPS). Comparably sized, 1U units typically come with ratings up to 500 VA.Three power ratings of 500 VA, 800 VA and 1.1 kVA are available, and each unit is capable of providing battery backup to a hub, switch and router for up to 45 minutes or to a Windows 2000/NT server for up to 25 minutes, depending on configuration. Local or remote administration is via USB and serial ports and management software works with Windows 95/98/2000/NT, Novell NetWare, SCO Unix v3.0, SCO Openserver, and Linux.
