COTS DC/DC Converters Support Parallel Operation

Delivering up to 100W of output power per unit, the commercial-off-the-shelf (COTS) VPT100+ 2800 series dc/dc converters enable parallel operation using as many as five units to create higher-power systems. The series consists of single- (3.3V, 5V, 7V, 12V, 15V, and 28V) and dual-output (±12V and ±15V) versions, all of which specify efficiencies up to 91% and an input-voltage range from 16V to 40V as per MIL-STD-704. Other specs and features include an operating temperature range from -55°C to +100°C, an output voltage trim up +10% or down -20%, six-sided metal cases, magnetic feedback, under-voltage lockout, indefinite short-circuit protection, current-limit protection, and an input transient voltage of 50V for 1s. Pricing is $183.79 each in OEM quantities. VPT INC., Blacksburg, VA. (425) 353-3010.
