\[August 3, 2006\] Described as economical components with outstanding thermal performance, the UCQ series quarter-brick dc/dc converters are available in 20A, 30A, and 35A output versions, each with a MTBF of 1.4-million hours and an array of agency approvals. Operating in temperatures from -40ºC to +70ºC with 100 LFM of airflow and no derating, the open-frame modules employ a synchronous-rectifier topology. This accounts for efficiencies up to 93%, line and load regulation down to ±0.2%, a 35-mVp-p noise figure, no output reverse conduction, and a step response of 150 µs. The series consists of a 24V-input (18V to 36V) unit with a 3.3V/35A output, and two 48V-input (36V to 75V) models with outputs of 3.3V/30A and 5V/20A. Depending on the model, pricing is approximately $41 each/1,000. C&D TECHNOLOGIES INC., Mansfield, MA. (508) 339-3000.
