These 2nd Generation 48Vin dc-to-dc converters and two accessory modules are used in a circuit that provides hot-swap capability in N+M arrays. The IAM48 input attenuator module, available with a 10A or 20A rating for 48V applications, provides on/off control during insertion and extraction. It also features inrush current limiting and, in consort with FiltMod EMI filter module, is available with an 8A or 12A current rating and transient overvoltage protection. The 48Vin converters are available in three package sizes-- MaxiMod, MiniMod and MicroMod-- and each provides eight standard output voltages between 2 and 48 vdc. Maximum output power is 500W. Prices for the dc-to-dc converters start at $0.38 per watt each/100. The price of an 8A FiltMod module is $19 and $22 for 12A versions; a 10A IAM 48 costs $26 and $30 for 20A versions.
