Expanding the Veta half brick dc/dc converter line, the iHA48016A280V gives a boost to next-generation wireless power amplifiers with a 450W, 28V output. The regulated and isolated converter operates from a 40V to 60V input and specifies an efficiency of 94%. Described as unique, its open-frame design combines a heat-dissipating baseplate with forced-air cooling in a non-potted module. Unlike the more common bolt-on baseplate approach, power-dissipating components are mounted directly on an integrated metal substrate. This reportedly results in a low-impedance thermal connection, allowing the converter to operate in cold-plate or clamshell applications with no derating at temperatures up to 100°C. Price is $110 each/1,000. TDK Innoveta INC., Richardson, TX. (877) 498-0099.
