Suitable for use in distributed power architectures, the PKJ4000E series of half-brick dc/dc converters is said to cost around 25% less than similar units. With 48V inputs, the power supplies are initially available in single output models. First in the series, the PKJ4810E PI is an open-frame converter that uses synchronous rectification to provide 3.3V at 25A and offers up to 92% efficiency at nominal input voltage. Units with output voltages down to 0.9V are available. The low-profile (8.5 mm) PKJ4810E PI is priced at $42 each/1,000+. ERICSSON POWER MODULES AB, Richardson, TX. (877) 374-2642.
