Delivering a power density in excess of 1.1 kW/in.3, the P045F048T32AL 320W PRM non-isolated regulator targets 48V power applications and provides a controlled, factorized bus distribution voltage for powering downstream VTM current

Delivering a power density in excess of 1.1 kW/in.3, the P045F048T32AL 320W PRM non-isolated regulator targets 48V power applications and provides a controlled, factorized bus distribution voltage for powering downstream VTM current multipliers. With an efficiency of 97%, the regulator enables direct 48V-to-load with 91% efficiency when matched with a 94%-efficient VTM unit, eliminating the need for an intermediate 12V bus conversion stage and VRMs. The P045F048T32AL employs adaptive loop compensation feedback, a single-wire alternative to traditional remote sensing and feedback loops that allows for precise control of an isolated POL voltage without the need for direct connection to the load or for isolation devices. Price for a 320W PRM+VTM chip set for converting 48V direct to 1 V is $53 each in OEM quantities. VICOR CORP., Andover, MA. (800) 735-6200.
