With a topology similar to a standard forward converter with special integrated magnetics to reduce component count, PD300 family of 300W dc-to-dc converters offers, in comparison to competing devices, 50% more power capability (300W vs. 200W) and lower profile (0.40" vs. 0.53") in a standard half-brick footprint (4.50" x 2.40"). The design achieves power densities of 90W/cu. in. with operating efficiencies up to 90% and total isolation of input, output and baseplate. The converters have a fixed frequency of 375 kHz with input voltages of 24V, 48V, 150V or 300V and output voltages of 3.3V, 5V, 12V, 15V, 24V or 28V. Output voltages can be trimmed using an integral trim pin from 65% to 110% with output ripple of typically less than 1% pk-pk.
