Half-Brick Converters Are Fully Scalable

March 1, 2001
The Kilo, Mega and Giga series offer designers a fully scalable range of half-brick-size dc/dc converters covering a wide, 20 to 60A output-current range. The 20A Kilo, 30A Mega and 40A Giga power modules include output voltages of 15, 12, 5, 3.3,

The Kilo, Mega and Giga series offer designers a fully scalable range of half-brick-size dc/dc converters covering a wide, 20 to 60A output-current range. The 20A Kilo, 30A Mega and 40A Giga power modules include output voltages of 15, 12, 5, 3.3, 2.5, 2.0, 1.8 and 1.5V. All units draw power from a 48V nominal input and deliver 75W-150W of output power. The converters are available in both standard and full-featured versions, with the latter also offering current sharing for parallel applications and N+1 redundancy. They use synchronous rectification and a patented topology to achieve high efficiency and high current ratings. Available in April 2001, the standard modules are priced as follows: Kilo, $82; Mega, $99; and Giga, $129, each 1,000.
