The APC Centauri surface-mount dc/dc converter line now includes APC12 series 40W point-of-load (POL) models. They are available in 14 input/output configurations, each delivering up to 12A of regulated power with an efficiency up to 92%. The POL converters are housed in an open-frame package measuring 33.02 x 16 x 9.34 mm. Input voltage ranges include 1.8V to 6V and 5V to 13V, and six programmable output voltages range from 0.9V to 3.3V. Available options include adjustable output voltage, active current sharing between paralleled units, and output status indication. If more power is needed, APC12 models with the optional active current share capability can be operated in parallel. Each model has an enable pin to allow for sequential activation and over-current and over-temperature protection with auto-recovery. Operating temperature range is from -40°C to 85°C. Prices start from $14.50 each in OEM quantities. ASTEC POWER, Carlsbad, CA. (760) 930-4600.
