Said to simplify power management designs in a broad range of low-voltage power conversion applications in telecomm, networking and computer equipment, the 12-member S7DC-16D family of point-of-load (POL) dc/dc converters employ a non-isolated, multi-phase architecture with precision voltage regulation to minimize input ripple and output noise while improving transient response. And through use of adaptive voltage positioning technology, total voltage deviation is also reduced. The SMT step-down converters provide 16A from a 3V to 15V bus/backplane and deliver a 1.2V, 1.8V, 2.5V, or 3.3V output. The modules also deliver full load efficiencies as high as 91%. Other S7DC-16D family features include programmable undervoltage lockout, output overcurrent detection, continuous short-circuit protection, a remote on/off pin, and adaptive voltage positioning. Single- and double-ended remote sense are also available as options. The S7DC-16D dc/dc converters come in 9-pin, 2.27" x 1.02" x 0.40" high DIP packages and have a starting price of $17.95 each/10,000. BEL FUSE INC., Jersey City, NJ. (800) 235-3873.
