In temperatures up to 70°C, the QME48 series 40A quarter-brick dc/dc converters are capable of delivering an output of 37A with 300 LFM of cooling and without the aid of heatsinks. Measuring 36.83 mm x 58.42 mm x 10.8 mm high, the series consists of several models offering output voltages from 1V to 3.3V, and each specifies a mean time between failures of 13.9 million hours. Additional features include an input range from 36V to 75V, 2 kV of input-to-output isolation, basic insulation, differential LC-filters on the inputs, no minimum-load requirements, remote on/off, the ability to withstand 100V input transients for 100 ms, start up into pre-biased loads, remote sense, and output voltage trim. The converters also include an array of standard protection functions. Price is $48 each/1,000. POWER-ONE INC., Camarillo, CA. (866) 969-3438.
