The newest members of the UWR 7-15W series single-output, isolated dc/dc converters deliver what is reported as industry leading output currents at voltages below 2V. In standard 1" x 2" packages, the RoHS-compliant converters are capable of providing up to 6A continuous with 88% efficiency. They are available with output voltages of 1.2V, 1.5V, and 1.8V and input-voltage ranges of 9V to 18V, 18V to 36V, and 36V to 75V, all delivering full output power over an ambient temperature range from -40ºC to +60ºC without heatsinks or forced-air cooling. Other features include 1.5 kVdc of isolation, output current limiting, and continuous short-circuit protection. Volume pricing is in the range of $35 each. C&D TECHNOLOGIES INC., Mansfield, MA.
