Compared to similar units, the PKB4110C PI eighth-brick dc/dc converter reportedly delivers more output power in a smaller package than traditional quarter bricks. The module employs a secondary digital monitoring circuit, pre-programmable at the factory, which allows control of a near infinite number of output circuit characteristics. These include latching, plus over-voltage, over-current, and over-temperature protection without adding extra components. Delivering 3.3V at 40A, the module is available in two versions: through-hole and surface-mount. An additional mechanical option features a broader baseplate to compensate for higher operating temperatures in situations where airflow is low. In OEM quantities, pricing is $35 each.
