Delivering quarter-brick power levels in an eighth-brick package, the PKB-B dc/dc converter provides 12V at 20A and is available in three versions: through-hole, base plate, and surface-mount. The converter features an input voltage range from 36V to 75V and provides up to 240W of power or up to 20A of output current in an industry standard footprint and pin out. According to the company, it offers a typical 25% cost savings compared to standard 240W regulated quarter-bricks. Groomed for datacom/networking, wireless networks, optical network equipment, server and data storage, ATCA, and fan trays, the converter meets insulation requirements of EN60950 and comes with standard features such as remote on/off, over-temperature protection, output over-current and over-voltage protection, and input under-voltage protection. Additionally, efficiency is over 95% at 53 Vin from 25% to 75% load and MTBF is 1.3 million hours. Price for the PKB-B is $31.50 each in OEM quantities. ERICSSON INC., Plano, TX. (972) 583-0000.
