The company’s line of lithium battery Gliders expands with the addition of two holders for CR2450 coin cells.  Described as a new category of lithium coin cell battery holders, Gliders are a hybrid type combining the low cost of retainers with higher reliability than regular holders. Their retainers are made of nickel-plated phosphor bronze and feature dual pressure contacts that exhibit low electrical resistance and keep a tight connection with the cell. The battery is replaceable without tools or instructions due to an intuitive design. Other features include a lightweight plastic body with a feature for reverse polarity protection. Price starts at $0.32 each/1,000. MEMORY PROTECTION DEVICES INC., Farmingdale, NY (631) 249-0001.
