Among the numerous enhancements Crane Aerospace & Electronics made to its MTR series of 30-W dc-dc converters were increases to the input voltage range and input transient protection. As a result, the high-reliability converters meet the overvoltage transient requirements of MIL-STD-704A, DO-160, and various international standards. Input voltage range support was expanded by 20% to 50 V, and input transient protection is up to 80 V. The single and dual MTR dc-dc converters, available in flanged or non-flanged versions, provide up to 30 W. Fully isolated magnetic feedback, inhibit, and synchronization functions operate over the military temperature range of −55 to +125°C. Applications for the converters, which come in 2.1- by 1.1- by 0.4-in. (flanged is slightly larger) hermetically sealed cases, include aerospace and defense.
