WAGO Corporation's 2.5A DC-DC converter supports "disconnected" mobile and remote I/O applications by enabling a 12 V battery to drive 24 V controls. Initially developed by WAGO's Engineering Services division for restaurant service trucks, the DIN-rail mount withstands high-vibrations and constant on/off cycles. A -40°C to +70°C operating range makes it suitable for remote I/O applications such as storage tanks within process measurement.

It provides a wide input range of 8-16 V DC and operates at 90% efficiency, conserving resources for remote locations. Optimized for convection cooling, the device's design features a prominent heat sink to help maintain proper control panel temperatures. Additional safety and convenience features include: a Power-On LED and fused output short circuit protection.

To ensure dependability, it employs robust, lever-operated WAGO 256 Series PCB Terminal blocks. These simple, tool-free terminations are vibration-proof and immune to temperature cycling - two causes of connection failures within remote and mobile I/O applications. Further validating reliability, the DC-DC Converter was subjected to rigorous internal testing, including 48 days' of continuous operation at +71°C.
