6-W DC-DC Converters Come In SIP-8 Size

April 8, 2014
XP Power encapsulated its ITX series of 6-W dc-dc converters in standard 0.86- by 0.44- by 0.36-in. SIP 8-pin packages.

XP Power encapsulated its ITX series of 6-W dc-dc converters in standard 0.86- by 0.44- by 0.36-in. SIP 8-pin packages. Delivering power density of up to 46 W per cubic inch, the converters offer 86% efficiency (typical). The single- and dual-regulated output devices comprise four 2:1 input voltage ranges: 4.5 to 9 V dc; 9 to 18 V dc; 18 to 36 V dc; and 36 to 75 V dc. Single-output models provide +3.3, +5, +12, +15, or +24 V dc; duals provide ±5, ±12, or ±15 V dc. Standard input/output isolation is rated at 1.5 kV dc, but a 3-kV dc isolation is available on order. Another option offers a remote on/off input for external control of the converter (e.g., sequencing startup or automatic on/off switching). Operating temperature ranges from ‒40 to +90°C.  Full output power reaches up to +65°C without derating. The converters don’t require forced airflow or additional heatsinking.
