The AGF800 series of 800-W dc-dc converter modules offer greater than 94.5% typical efficiency and a 36- to 75-V input range. Developed by Artesyn Embedded Technologies, the full-brick devices comes in 28- and 48-V versions. The 48-V model (AGF800-48S48) supports the growing number of high-power wireless basestations using gallium-nitride (GaN) technology. The 48-V device delivers up to 16.7 A of output current, while the 28-V model produces up to 28.6 A of output current. Their aluminum baseplate structure allows for temperature operation between ‒40 and +85°C, and can continue to operate at ful power up to 100°C without air cooling. Trim ranges are 24 to 53 V and 14 to 33 V for the nominal 48-V output and 28-V output versions, respectively. They incorporate features such as remote enable, remote output sense, trim, auxiliary output, and power-good signal. Input undervoltage, output overcurrent, output overvoltage, and overtemperature protection also are included. Mean time between failure (MTBF) is 1 million hours.
