This new Schottky diode is designed specifically to meet increasing need to reduce costs and increase efficiency in power supplies designed for desktop PCs.

Cree's 2-A Zero-Recovery rectifier operates at 600 V. This new Schottky diode is designed specifically to meet an increasing need to reduce costs and increase efficiency in power supplies designed for desktop PCs. The new 2-A SiC rectifier expands the Zero Recovery product line, which already includes 1 A, 4 A, 6 A, 10 A, and 20 A diodes.

Compared with traditional silicon-based diodes, SiC-based Zero Recovery rectifiers can eliminate the need for snubbers, lower component count, reduce power losses, produce significantly lower EMI, and better support new design objectives for efficiency set forth by the EPA and other agencies.

Samples of the 2-A, 600-V diodes are available now. In production quantities, the CSD02060A (TO-220) is priced at less than $1.00 each.
