Qspeed diodes are amongst the fastest diodes in the world and have extremely low Qrr, which is important in high-efficiency applications. Devices feature a reduced reverse recovery current which lowers the switching losses in the MOSFET of the flyback converter dropping its temperature by 6°C and improving efficiency by 0.3%. Compared to other high voltage diodes, the soft switching of the Qspeed diode reduces its peak reverse voltage by over 5%, resulting in a higher derating margin and increased operational reliability.

The lower peak voltage of the 530V Qspeed diode and its softer switching behavior mean that minimal EMC snubbing is required, and SO-8 packaging further suits height and volume constrained applications.
