Power-One’s hot-swappable FNP1000-48 front-end is an ac-dc power supply that provides 48 Vdc at 21 A and 88% efficiency. Power density is 16.1 W/in3, enabling delivery of 5000 W from a 1U-high shelf.

The FNP1000-48 reports operational status via front-panel LEDs, logic signals, and an I2C interface. The I2C interface can also be used to enable the front-end, set output voltage, and control fan speed. Additional features include a 12-Vdc, 0.5 A standby output, a wide 90-Vac to 264-Vac input range, internal ORing FETs and diodes, and a 11.74 in. x 3.30 in. x 1.6 in. (298.2 mm x 83.8 mm x 40.6 mm) package.

The unit is designed to meet international safety standards and displays the CE mark for the European Low Voltage Directive (LVD). This product is available in RoHS six-substance and lead-solder-exemption compliant versions.

Pricing is $400 each in quantities of 100. Evaluation models are available.
