Alion Science and Technology has been awarded a contract to provide technical, engineering and program management expertise that includes support for advanced naval power systems.
Alion Science and Technology, a technology solutions company, has been awarded a contract by the Office of Naval Research (ONR) Sea Warfare and Weapons Department, Ships Systems and Engineering Division. Under the contract, Alion will provide technical, engineering and program management expertise that includes support for advanced naval power systems.
The contract was awarded after a re-compete of a contract Alion had held for 10 years. The new contract covers one base year and four option years and could be worth up to $20 million
Alion will work on electrical systems, fuel cells, advanced electrical machinery and high-efficiency thermoelectric concepts for use on ships and submarines. Alion will also provide subject matter experts to support the development of next-generation electric motors for ship propulsion on the Navy’s newest, most advanced ships.
