The FPER48T from FDK is the first eighth-brick product in the company’s Sensei series of isolated dc-dc converters, and provides 30 A at 3.3 V to 1.2 V with little or no thermal derating. With a 48-Vdc input and 400 LFM airflow, the converters deliver full-rated output current at ambient temperatures up to 75°C and 85°C at output voltages of 3.3 V and 1.2 V, respectively, without the need for heatsinks.
Designed for intermediate-bus and distributed-power architectures, the 30-A converters operate from a 36-Vdc to 75-Vdc input, and are available in standard output voltages of 3.3 V, 2.5 V, 1.8 V, 1.5 V and 1.2 V. They are housed in an eighth-brick footprint and pin-out, and have a body profile of 0.421 in. The converters are priced at $37.00 in quantities of 1000, and samples are available now.
