Aegis Power Systems, a subsidiary of Vicor, has introduced a one-slot VME450 power supply that is said to offer higher efficiency (85%), lower weight (2.4 lbs), and higher power (up to 550 W) than VME power supplies based on conventional technology. The company attributes the supply’s performance to its use of Vicor components including two filter-input-attenuator modules (M-FIAM) modules, six pre-regulator modules (PRMs) and six voltage transformation modules (VTMs).

The power supply generates four dc outputs including 3.3 V, 5 V, ±12 V and filtered 28 V, The unit provides a military COTS solution that is compliant to the vibration requirements of MIL-STD-810F and EMI per MIL-STD-461E. Pricing for the supply is $3995 each in quantities of 10 and $3695 each in quantities of 100.
