World's smallest USB charger

Feb. 22, 2010
A 2.75W adapter is the smallest low-cost USB charger available.

The PSM03A USB charger is compliant with the new, more stringent Energy Star External Power Supply (EPS) Version 2.0 requirement as well as the U.S. Federal Energy Independence and Security Act of 2007 (EISA) and the 5-Star Standby Power standard. The USB charger's 2.29 by 1.69 by .83-in size makes it a candidate for wireless communications, peripherals, networking, and portable and mobile equipment.

Developed by Phihong USA, the unit is designed with applications such as MP3 players, PDAs, digital cameras and mobile phones in mind. It provides a fully regulated 5 Vdc output and a maximum no-load power consumption below 0.03 W.

The suggested unit price for the PSM03A adapter is $2.77 each in 1k-piece quantities. Detailed specifications, which include a product demonstration, are available on the website at www.phihong.com/html/psm03a.html.
