Phihong USA has developed a new low-profile USB adapter capable of producing 10W in a package that is just 15mm thick when the AC connector blades are folded. Designated the PSA10F-050Q, the adapter has a constant current output of 2A at 5VDC which is ideal for charging batteries that the more powerful personal electronics such as tablets and smartphones often require. The sleek power supply is also available in a second variation, designated the PSA10F-050Q(D), which has a compensate circuit that increases the voltage as the current increases to offset wire drops in USB cables.

Though designed as a fixed wall plug for North America, the F-Series is available with optional field-interchangeable AC Clips to enable the adapter to operate for worldwide AC mains outlets in Brazil, China, Continental Europe, Korea, India, United Kingdom, Argentina and Australia/New Zealand.

The PSA10F meets requirements for Level V marking, allowing it approval for CE in addition to C-Tick, SAA and cUL/UL safety agency markings. Standard features include current-limit protection, over-voltage protection, short-circuit protection and over-temperature protection and the adapter is equipped with a no-load power draw of 0.015W, giving it a 5-Star standby rating.

Each unit measures 60mm by 47mm by 15mm, weighs just 38.5g and may be operated from 0°C to 40°C. Pricing for both models in the series start at $14.46 in single unit quantities. USB cables and interchangeable AC clips are sold separately.
