Kistler adds Digital Torque Measurement System

May 29, 2012. The Type 4550A KiTorq system adds measurement flexibility for highly dynamic torque parameters found within assembly and manufacturing related machinery and equipment, such as electric motors, gearboxes, pumps, motors, compressors, combustion engines, and engineering test benches. The KiTorq system features an accuracy class of 0.05% and fully digital transmission, with a signal bandwidth of up to 10 kHz and integral speed measurement of 60 pulses per revolution. The bearing and slip-ring free design of the KiTorq system consists of the Type 455x rotary torque measuring unit and the Type 454x stator torque evaluation unit.  Units are highly robust and offer maintenance-free operation.

With choice of measuring range from 500 to 3,000 Nm, the rotor, which features a standard DIN ISO 7646-compliant flange configuration, may also be either purchased individually or as part of a fully calibrated torque measurement chain, together with a KiTorq stator. All KiTorq rotors capture torque measurement data using strain gauges, with their generated signal amplified and then processed at approximately 35 ksample. Kistler North America, www.kistler.com
