Global Test Solutions Offers High Voltage Cable Tester
September 17, 2012. Global Test Solutions announced at Autotestcon 2012 that the Sefelec Synor 5000P is now available in the United States. The Synor 5000P is a self-contained cable tester that operates from 2 to 4000 VAC or 5500 VDC with built-in hipot, insulation-resistance, and continuity measurement capabilities. Instrument software eases the creation of test sequences by self-learning or using an imported Excel file. An unlimited number of cable test points can be added with expansion chassis.
“Users will quickly configure their testing sequences across hundreds or thousands of points,” said Arlene Meadows, managing partner, Global Test Solutions. “The software is easy to use, and the ability to handle 4000 VAC or 5500 VDC or add external instruments—if higher voltage or more precision is required-is a feature users appreciate.”
The Synor 5000P is designed for cable and harness manufacturers as well as depots responsible for repairing and certifying high voltage or high current cables, such as those used on aircraft, ships, and trains. The instrument's high-voltage/high-current capability allows it to be used on many types of cables that cannot be tested with typical cable testers. The Winpass5000 software offers tools for self-learning from a “golden” cable. The instrument will learn the steps, requiring only fine-tuning of limits and ranges. Alternatively, an Excel list can be imported. The Synor 5000P also has a built-in self-test function to ensure that the relays in the tester are all functioning.
The Sefelec Synor 5000P is available from Global Test Solutions with delivery of six to eight weeks ARO, depending on voltage ranges. The Synor 5000P is priced starting at $9,000.
Global Test Solutions also said it has reduced the price of the NF Corp. ZM2372 LCR meter to $3,380. The ZM2372 measures inductance, capacitance, and resistance of components and semiconductors with high accuracy and within a wide frequency range. Its ease of use is optimized for bench testing while its speed and handler interface make it a good fit for production lines.
