Measurement Specialties Offers Digital Temperature Sensor

February 8, 2013. Measurement Specialties, a manufacturer in sensor-based measuring of pressure/force, position, vibration, temperature, humidity, and fluid properties, now offers the TSYS01 digital temperature sensor, which integrates a sensing chip and 24-bit ADC converter into one component.

Drawing less than 12.5 µA in a compact QFN16 surface-mount package, the fully-calibrated TSYS01 is easily incorporated into a variety of industrial-control, HVAC/R, and heating/cooling systems.

The 4 mm x 4 mm sensor features an operating range of -40°C to +125°C, making it a potential replacement for thermistors and NTC (negative temperature coefficient) devices

The TSYS01 is factory-calibrated to provide an accuracy of ±0.1°C as well as high measurement resolution. Custom calibration is also available to meet specific application needs.

The selectable digital output of either I2C or SPI enables this versatile temperature sensor to interface with a microcontroller that calculates temperature based on the ADC values and calibration parameters. The company will highlight the device at the upcoming MD&M West trade show.
