May 20, 2013. King Abdulaziz City for Science and Technology (KACST), the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s National Science Agency & National Laboratories, has announced the launching of its WaferCatalyst prototyping and small-volume production services.
WaferCatalyst is partnering with wafer manufacturing facilities around the world to offer various advanced technologies to end users globally. The technologies available from WaferCatalyst services through its partners are for digital/logic design, analog/mixed-signal/RF design, high-speed design, image-sensor design, and various other specialty designs. KACST plans to offer its WaferCatalyst services to academic, research, and commercial organizations in Saudi Arabia and globally.
H.H. Prince Dr. Turki bin Saud bin Mohammad Al Saud, vice president for Research Institutes of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, emphasized, “Offering of WaferCatalyst service is the culmination of KACST’s capacity building in semiconductor technologies and we hope that it will mark the start of a period of innovation in the field of semiconductor design in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the region.
