Texas A&M Using Anritsu Network Performance Tester
June 15, 2013. Anritsu has donated an MP1590B Network Performance Tester to the telecommunications laboratory of the Electronic Systems Engineering Technology Program at Texas A&M University. The MP1590B will be used in research projects and undergraduate student labs that focus on local area networks and wireless transmission systems.
Students and researchers will use the MP1590B for Ethernet traffic generation and analysis, as a traffic generator for point-to-point microwave links, and for the testing of switches and routers. The MP1590B is suited for applications in these environments, as its flexible design allows it to serve as an all-in-one network element test solution. Using a variety of plug-in units, it supports performance, jitter, and EOS measurements of networks, equipment, and devices with SDH/SONET/OTN/PDH/DSn or Ethernet interfaces up to 10 Gbps. The MP1590B will be used to perform a wide range of measurements covering the physical to application layers.

The Electronics Systems Engineering Program at Texas A&M University has an emphasis in product development and test; performs applied research for educational, government, and industrial entities in the state and nation; and conducts professional development and other activities to meet the needs of the private and public sectors.
