Warrington, UK. IDEAL Networks announced it has upgraded its LanXPLORER Pro inline network troubleshooter with updated software and a new Wi-Fi testing accessory to support both 2.4-GHz and 5-GHz frequencies.
“With so many channels now using the 2.4-GHz Wi-Fi frequency, many business users are finding that the speed of their network suffers. This means that companies are increasingly moving to 5-GHz Wi-Fi to beat congestion and prevent performance from depreciating,” explained Tim Widdershoven, global marketing manager for IDEAL Networks. “To meet this demand, we have introduced a new Dual Band USB Wi-Fi Adapter for LanXPLORER Pro.”
The multi-function LanXPLORER Pro not only tests Wi-Fi, but also offers a wide range of network diagnosis capabilities, from testing the copper and fiber cable that serves the wireless access points, to troubleshooting problems in Ethernet devices that may be reducing network performance.
The latest free software includes an extended list of wiremap templates for common Ethernet cable types including Cat6A/7A/8 and non-Ethernet cable, such as Profinet 4, ISDN, and Deutsche Bahn (German Rail system). User-defined custom wiremap templates are also available for maximum versatility and accuracy when testing proprietary cabling systems.
“Overall, the updated software and upgraded USB antenna provide a better user experience, alongside bug fixes,” says Tim. “This ensures that all the testing and troubleshooting needed for Wi-Fi and network installations can be done with just one tester as simply and efficiently as possible.”
One particular time-saving feature available with LanXPLORER Pro is the IDEAL AnyWARE app. Free to download, IDEAL AnyWARE allows technicians and systems integrators to share the pass/fail result that has been generated with clients. Detailed PDF and CSV reports can also be transferred to clients via the app or shared with co-workers off site to improve collaboration and productivity and reduce network downtime.
