RIGOL brings I/Q generation to DSG800 signal-generator platform
BEAVERTON, OR. RIGOL Technologies has announced an expansion of its RF test portfolio with the release of four new models of the DSG800 Series RF signal-generator family.
The explosion of IoT connected devices has led to a significant increase in the amount of digital data being transmitted via local RF interfaces. This expansion has driven a need for affordable I/Q generation capabilities. RIGOL’s new DSG800Amodels provide support for internal and external I/Q generation allowing engineers to quickly generate I/Q traffic to simulate or validate their designs.
Available in 2.1-GHz and 3.6-GHz models with a starting price of $3,699, the DSG800A provides internal I/Q modulation, eliminating the need for an external I/Q source, simplifying setup, minimizing expense, and ensuring system accuracy. Internal I/Q waveform construction is supported by the company’s free Ultra IQ Station software utility, making the creation and generation of I/Q data simpler than ever before.
"RIGOL is dedicated to making advanced capabilities available to customers who previously could not afford them,” said Michael Rizzo, general manager of RIGOL North America. "Providing a solution with internal I/Q modulation allows our customers the ability to quickly, easily, and affordably generate I/Q traffic and speed their time to market.”
For those needing high-performance RF signal generation without I/Q, RIGOL has also added non-I/Q versions to its DSG800 portfolio at 2.1 GHz and 3.6 GHz. All models deliver maximum output power up to +20 dBm and low SSB phase noise of -112 dBc/Hz, amplitude accuracy of ±0.5 dB, and frequency resolution 0.01 Hz at any frequency. An optional oven-controlled crystal oscillator timebase provides < 5 ppb temperature stability and < 30 ppb/year aging stability.
