A new analyzer supports PCI-Express architecture and combines multifunction, analyzer/exerciser hardware with "easy" and "advanced" GUI software. Described as a highly capable hardware tool integrated with Dual-Mode GUI software to provide an effective development system, the card-level device provides an extensive set of protocol error checking, state analysis and bus exercising capabilities for single and multi-channel PCI-Express systems. Features of the PCI-Express Bus and Protocol Analyzer includes: support for up to 16x link widths; user defined trigger and real-time filtering; a high capacity trace buffer; fast offline search and filtering of captured samples; and 10/100 Ethernet and USB host interfaces. Other features of the Bus Exerciser include: transparent or non-transparent mode of operation; large payload data burst capability; USB host interfaces; and specific number or infinite command looping capability.
