Extending the measurement range of the ZVA24 24-GHz and ZVA40 40-GHz, 4-port vector network analyzers, the ZVA-Z110 option enables measurements between 75 and 110 GHz. The option is expected to be a cost-effective solution for evaluating the performance of millimeter-wave components designed for applications such as collision-avoidance radar, developmental wireless systems, and defense systems. It employs the two internal signal generators within the analyzers to simultaneously provide both the source and local oscillator. The frequency extension option consists of a directional coupler, frequency multiplier for up conversion, two harmonic mixers for down conversion, and a variable attenuator that varies output power by more than 25 dB. Maximum output power over the frequency range is +1 dBm. Other features include a typical trace stability of 0.2 dB and dynamic range beyond 80 dB. In addition, with system error correction, source match and directivity are greater than 35 dB. ROHDE & SCHWARZ INC., Columbia, MD. (410) 910-7800.
