Working in conjunction with Agilent Technologies' logic analyzers, the FS2232 SCSI-bus analysis probe is capable of testing systems that comply with the Ultra 160-M specification, there by capable of testing at the full speed of 80 Mtransfers/s. Users can view bus activity, measure setup and hold violations, characterize software, verify compliance, and measure performance specifications. The probe provides two functions: state and timing analysis, and performance analysis. In timing-analyzer mode, the instrument provides an electrical and mechanical interface to the logic analyzer for passive timing analysis. In timing-analysis mode, the analyzer generates the master clock and allows the user to make signal-timing measurements. The 8- and 16-bit for single-ended LVD costs $3500.
