The CSA7404 is the first and only real-time digital oscilloscope for the design of systems with data rates up to 2.5 Gbits/s. Targeted at emerging metropolitan-area networks (MANs), it features integrated optical reference receiver, clock-recovery, and serial-triggering circuitry. It's the flagship product in Tektronix's CSA7000 series of communications signal analyzers for the design of high-speed electrical and optical systems. All members of the series feature single-connection convenience and advanced versatility.

The CSA7404 offers an industry-leading 4-GHz bandwidth and a sample rate of 20 Gsamples/s. It provides an integrated optical/electrical converter as well as a library of optical reference receiver filters, allowing frequency re-sponse measurements required for compliance testing. The built-in combination eliminates the need to calibrate external optical/electrical accessories.

CSA series instruments also offer integrated clock recovery and a 32-bit serial trigger. For compliance mask testing, users can select from a number of optical and electrical standards, including ANSI T1.102, ITU-T G.703, SDH/Sonet, Fibre Channel, Ethernet, InfiniBand, USB, Serial ATA, and IEEE 1394.

For those who do not require the superior performance of the CSA7404, the CSA7154 is available. With a 1.5-GHz bandwidth and a 20-Gsample/s sample rate, this version features integrated optical reference receivers, clock recovery, and serial triggering. This analyzer also suits development and verification applications at data rates up to 1.25 Gbits/s.

Available now, the CSA7000 series analyzers are priced from $37,500 to $57,500.
