A 10-Gb differential I/O feature claims responsibility for transforming the MP1590B network-performance tester into the industry's first single instrument capable of performing differential electrical jitter testing of 10G XFP modules. The instrument supports various interfaces including SONET/OTN up to 10.7G, Ethernet up to 10 Gb, Ethernet over SONET (EoS), PPP, and Cisco HDLC. It supports both high-order and low-order virtual concatenation, allowing the instrument to make unique simultaneous measurements on various protocol layers of different interfaces. Additional support includes ITU-T O.172/O.173 jitter analysis up to 10.7G with what is said to be the industry's highest accuracy of ±20 mUI. Price for the MP1590B with the 10G differential I/O electrical interface and a 2.5G/10G, 1,310 nm/1,550 nm optical interface is $162,614. ANRITSU CO., Richardson, TX. (800) 267-4878.
