Distortion Analysis App Eases RF Component Linearization

For optimizing active RF components, the FS K130 distortion analysis software allegedly allows users to characterize and linearize amplifiers quickly and compensates for memory effects exhibited by many current amplifiers.

For optimizing active RF components, the FS K130 distortion analysis software allegedly allows users to characterize and linearize amplifiers quickly and compensates for memory effects exhibited by many current amplifiers. A typical test setup consists of a spectrum analyzer, signal generator, and a PC. It measures the amplifier's characteristics and calculates the necessary corrections to attain a linear output signal. The application, which runs on Windows XP, is designed for a test setup based on the FSV or FSQ spectrum analyzers as well as the SMBV or SMU200A signal generators. The software has two functions: to control the instruments and characterize the amplifier using the same signal waveform that will be driving it. ROHDE & SCHWARZ INC., Columbia, MD. (888) 837-8772.
