Accelerating design time and prototyping for massive MIMO radio units, or small cell output devices or even as drivers for high-power macro base stations, RFMW announced design and sales support for NXP’s RapidRF front-end reference designs. RapidRF reference boards integrate a T/R switch, circulator, Rx LNA, Rx linear amplifier, Tx path pre-drivers, and an asymmetrical Doherty output. TDD I2C logic controls for a complete 5G, TDD radio system RF front-end solution are also provided. Suitable for transmitters from 2.5 to 5 watts (average) at the antenna with approximately 8.5 dB PAR LTE/NR signals, RapidRF reference boards can be linearized for up to 200 MHz instantaneous bandwidth, while meeting regulatory emissions requirements when used in conjunction with digital pre-distortion.
