Ready for emerging high-speed serial data applications the likes of PCI-Express 2.0, HDMI 1.3, and SATA III, the DSA70000 oscilloscopes, also described as real-time digital serial analyzers (DSAs) and P7500 probes both lay claim to delivering the fastest performance available. Operating in real time, the four-channel DSAs provide bandwidths up to 20 GHz and sampling rates up to 50 Gsamples/s on all channels simultaneously. Each channel supports up to 200M of memory, allowing for the capture of more than 300,000 waveforms per second. Models include 12.5-GHz, 16-GHz, and 20-GHz versions and each comes with tools that provide software clock recovery, RT-Eye serial compliance and analysis software, and a comprehensive helping of standard-specific parametric measurements. Options offer a range of automated software applications to accelerate pass/fail standards testing. Initial members of the P7500 active differential probe family, the 13-GHz P7513 and 16-GHz P7516, support debugging and validating the third harmonic of 10 Gb/s signals and perform compliance testing to the fifth harmonic on signals up to 6.4 Gb/s. They rely on unique, patent-pending TriMode measurement switching, and sport a trim needle-nose form factor that is long in reach and small enough to fit into tight spaces.
