Designed to test vehicle-based radio systems used predominantly by first responders, the 3500 portable radio test set provides a variety of vehicle-based radio tests plus applications for commercial radio systems. Said to be on par with bench-top equipment, the test set includes a built-in generator and receiver and operates from 2 MHz to 1 GHz. It is capable of measuring power up to 200W with an external attenuator, finding faults in antennas, power amplifiers, and interconnects, and performing a wide variety of AM/FM transmitter/receiver tests. These include RF power, frequency error, AM modulation, FM deviation, receive-strength indicator, distortion, and SINAD/sensitivity. The unit weighs 8.5 lbs. including the battery and case and operates in temperatures from -10°C to +50°C.
