Thermopile Detectors Address Demanding Requirements

Dec. 4, 2009
818P Series thermopile detectors

Meeting more demanding and precise user requirements, three additions to the 818P Series thermopile detectors include the fan-cooled 818P-500-55, water-cooled 818P-3KW-060, and the high-sensitivity 818P-001-12NIR. The 818P-500-55 with cooling fan handles up to 500W of continuous optical power and features a 55-mm diameter active area and an extended wavelength range from 0.19 to 20 µm. The water-cooled 818P-3KW-060 handles up to 3 kW of continuous power and up to 4 kW for five minutes. Output connections include an attached cable with a DB-15 connector. The 818P-001-12NIR thermopile optical sensor measures down to micro-Watt levels with a wavelength range from 0.28 to 1.36 µm. It is insensitive to beam position and offers the spatial dependence of thermopiles while retaining the high sensitivity of photodiodes. NEWPORT CORP., Irvine, CA. (800) 222-6440.
