T&M Serial Device Platform Eyes IoT

Jan. 29, 2015
Total Phase demonstrated the Promira Serial Platform, an advanced serial device for testing, measurement, and emulation.

Total Phase demonstrated the Promira Serial Platform, an advanced serial device for testing, measurement, and emulation. The platform provides integrated level-shifting for high-performance/low-power applications; high-speed USB and Ethernet connectivity to the host system; and a new architecture that enables the downloading and updating of device applications. Aimed toward the Internet of Things (IoT) movement, the platform supports I2C and SPI protocols. Fast clock rates, additional protocols, and advanced slave-emulation are expected to be added in the future. Promira provides I2C at speeds up to 1 MHz for both masters and slaves, and SPI speeds up to 12.5 MHz for masters and 8 MHz for slaves.
