The MAX19985A 700-MHz to 1-GHz, dual down-conversion mixer relies on a proprietary, monolithic SiGe process that reportedly enables an unparalleled combination of linearity, noise performance, and component integration. It provides two independent down-conversion channels, each with a +25.5-dBm IIP3, 8.7-dB conversion gain, and a 9-dB noise figure. Additionally, the chip specifies a 2LO-2RF spurious rejection of 76 dBc for an RF level of -10 dBm and 71 dBc for a level of -5 dBm. Designed specifically for 2.5G/3G/4G wireless-infrastructure applications and suitable for LTE, WiMax, GSM/EDGE, WCDMA, and cdma2000 base stations, other features include two mixer cores, four amplifiers, three baluns, an LO switch, buffer, and splitter, and numerous discrete components. Available in a 36-pin, 6 mm x 6 mm TQFN, prices start at $9.96 each/1,000. MAXIM INTEGRATED PRODUCTS, Sunnyvale, CA. (800) 998-8800.
