The LT1721 UltraFast quad comparator, with a 4.5-ns propagation delay, is small enough to fit into an SO-8 package. It operates from 2.7 to 6 V while drawing only 4 mA of supply current per comparator. Also, its wide input range includes ground and rail-to-rail output for compatibility with 3- and 5-V logic. Its input voltage range, meanwhile, extends from 100 mV below ground to 1.2 V below the supply voltage.

Another feature, its internal hysteresis, makes it stable even with slow input signals. The LT1721's pinout minimizes parasitic effects by placing the most sensitive inputs away from the outputs, shielded by power rails. And, it's available in a 16-pin SO package. Pricing stars at $4.50 each for the SO-16 and $4.70 each for the SSOP-16 in 1000-piece quantities.
