In applications requiring multiple converters on a single printed-circuit board, the APS100DMA series of 100-W half-brick DC/DC converters offers synchronized operation. This ensures that all units on the same board operate at the same switching frequency, helping to minimize injection of noise into the board. The converters employ an active clamp-forward topology with synchronous rectification to provide a 100-W half-brick converter in a fully-encapsulated package with a six-sided shield for improved EMI performance. Operation is at a fixed 230-kHz switching frequency with an input range of 36 to 78 V dc. Operating temperature range is from -40°C to+85°C with a typical efficiency of 84%. The series consists of three models offering outputs of 3.3 V, 5 V, and 12 V and up to 100 watts output power. Protection is included against overvoltage, overcurrent, and overtemperature. Converters meet EN55022 Class B emissions standards and numerous international safety approvals, including: UL60950-1; CB; C-Tick; BSMI; TUV; and CE Mark. Evaluation quantities are available now; production deliveries take less than eight weeks. Pricing is as low as $54.00 each in lots of 1000. ADVANCED POWER SOLUTIONS, Pleasanton, CA. (925) 734-3060.
